Breeze Frankfurter Hof: A New Wave in Dining Experience

Tim Kobe's Award-Winning Design Transforms Dining into an Emotional Journey

In the heart of Frankfurt, a unique dining experience awaits. Breeze Frankfurter Hof, designed by Tim Kobe, is more than just a restaurant. It's a journey, a transformation, and an emotional connection, all wrapped in an exceptional design that earned a Silver A' Design Award in 2017.

Without any direct visual link to the outside world, Breeze Frankfurter Hof draws its inspiration from nature. The design features elements of running water, layers of glowing blue, turquoise, and teal, golden reflections of brass and bronze, and the haptic and sensual qualities of timber and stone. These elements evoke the sea, the setting sun, and a dark, deep night sky, creating a unique atmosphere that transports guests from the busy streets of Frankfurt to a tranquil, natural haven.

The restaurant's design is focused on three key ingredients: inspirational food, exceptional service, and bold design. The defining architectural moments mark a guest's series of transformations as they discover a cavernous grotto hidden below the city center in the basement of the Steigenberger Hotel Frankfurter Hof.

Lebua, the hospitality group behind Breeze, takes a unique approach to hospitality. They aim to create emotional connections with their guests, making every moment spent at Breeze uniquely memorable, infinitely personal, and simply exceptional.

The design process started in March 2014 and ended in 2015 with the grand opening of the restaurant. The design team, led by Tim Kobe, carefully analyzed Breeze at state tower Bangkok to understand what sets this high-end pan-Asian restaurant apart from its competition. They identified the defining architectural moments in Bangkok and redefined those same moments in the very different context of Frankfurt.

The challenge of this project was to transfer Breeze’s dining experience from Bangkok to a 19th-century Grand Hotel in Frankfurt, a geographically, culturally, architecturally, and gastronomically very different location. However, the design team successfully overcame this challenge, creating a unique dining experience that has been recognized with a Silver A' Design Award.

In conclusion, Breeze Frankfurter Hof is a testament to the power of design in transforming spaces and creating unique experiences. Its success serves as an inspiration for designers and restaurateurs alike, proving that with creativity and a deep understanding of the customer journey, it's possible to create spaces that are not just functional, but emotionally engaging as well.
